The Amaranthine Home is an interdisciplinary installation, featuring sound, projection, and lighting. The work aims to replicate the comforts and warmth of the inside of a home, into an outdoor location. Inspired by Gaston Bachelard’s philosophical text ‘The Poetics of Space’, this installation examines the intrinsic relationship between human emotion and the physical space we inhabit, as well as exploring the complimentary nature of outside and inside environments. Using the four seasons as a cyclical base for the work, it demonstrates the unavoidable driving force of the passing of time.
